and why do you prefer the canon lens?, the aperture starts at 3,5 instead at f4 with the sigma but it's a lot of money for that little gain... or maybe not?

it's not about f value nor because it's Canon, simply put it: image quality. My choice at first was the same reason, money. I though same thing and bought sigma. Don't get me wrong, Sigma 10-20 is great lens, but when I saw shot with Canon 10-22 I couldn't believe the difference.
Than I decided to pay a little more and buy Canon lens. I have to say Sigma is really good and solid built, in my opinion better than Canon. It's heavier and better "lays" in hand

But with all that Sigma is no match to image quality of Canon lens, trust me

i thought there was no great difference in optical quality between the sigma and canon lens... i'm afraid i can`t go nikon in the ultra-wide lens because there is no 10-20 in the nikon catalog, the closest thing is the 12-24 f3.5 that costs 1200 euros (more than two times the sigma) and i prefer a 10mm focal length
